Confess Gods promises - it will come to pass.

Luk 3:5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low, and the crooked shall be straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth.

Filled and brought low

I see this mountain before me
This sin, this addiction
The one that so easily besets me
O' where will my help come from?
These giants so big
And I like grasshoppers be
Who will take me into the Promised Land?
Who will give me victory?
Who will help me overcome?
From the depths I cry out
No help seems near
Neither from the east nor the west
From the north or the south
In desperation nowhere to turn around
In the valley darkness surrounds
And I turn my head upwards
And I think I sense a gentle breeze
As if all of heaven sigh – “at last”
At last heaven rejoices
And I think I hear a gentle voice
And I speak it out loud,
what is being written in my heart;
"I lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord,
which made heaven and earth."
At last I believe
At last I confess
At last I take Him at His word,
No feelings or thoughts
No dark clouds of doubts
Disguised in the garb of reality
Can hide this simple fact,
He has said it
And so it will be,
I have called on His name
And so I will be saved,
From this besetting sin;
At last the seed that was sown
Has died to give life,
The grain of wheat
The mustard seed
Has surrendered itself,
"For the law of the Spirit of life
In Christ Jesus has set me free
From the law of sin and death."

Mar 9:23 Jesus said to him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.

Rom 10:8-10 But what does it say? "The Word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart"; that is, the Word of Faith which we proclaim; Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation.

Rev 12:11 And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. And they did not love their soul until death.

This poem and testimony, and the previous one, both minister to my spirit greatly. Thank you, brother.

I meant to comment before on this, that what makes it so good is your use of the psalms in the context of your poem, so that as I read it, the psalms come to mind

"…I lift my eyes to the mountains. From where shall come my help? My help shall come from the Lord Yahweh, it is He who made heaven and earth…"

You are like a tree that is planted, brother, by water streams, yielding its fruit in season, its leaves never fading.

V'haya k'etz shatul al palgei mayim, asher piryo itten b'itto, v'aleyhu lo yibbol… (Hebrew Psalm 1, verse 3)

"Shatul," the word usually translated by "planted" actually means "deeply rooted." And so it applies to you, my brother, because you are deeply rooted in the rich field of God's Word, as we see from your poems.

1Co 4:7 For who makes you to differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

Our Father hides out frailities and our failures and seems to show forth the little light we have got by HIS grace and mercy.
So let us expose the goodness of the brethren and hide their weakness and failures.

I have not been reading God's word as I ought to and also I see that there so much of things that I get easily distracted with, even this worlds entertainment.
But I pray that God will increase my thirst for His word and that what you have spoken of me will become true shortly.
This is truth and no proud modesty!

Thank you brother for your encouragement.

The Bible is very much like a good and much beloved friend who, when we are with him, we never want to leave but only to stay in his presence, enjoying his wisdom and the other gifts God has given him; yet, when are away from him, we remember how good it is to be with him, but we don't feel the same irresistable desire to be with him, and we let ourselves (force ourselves, really) to find relief from our loneliness in other activities.

That's how it is with us and the Word of God. When we are with the Word, reading it and studying it and being taught and blessed by it, we never want to leave and go to do anything else. I even sleep with my Bible near me, falling asleep often with my hand wrapped around it. When I am too tired to read it for very long, I let it bless me just by being there with me on my cot.

But then, when we go to do other things, forcing ourselves really to interact with others and the world at large, we remember how good the Word is, but we sometimes don't feel the deep love and desire for it that we feel when we are reading it. Thank God, the world is so given over to the evil one, that staying in it for very long is like holding one's breath and being under water for very long. We simply must come up for air, it's not even a choice really. We must come up for air, else we die, drowning. So it is with the Word of God for the Christian soul. If we do not come up for pnevma (Greek: spirit), we will die. So we come to the Word of God as much as we can.

I just pray for you, brother, that your love for the Word becomes greater than your love for anything in this world. For where you treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Thank you, my brothers, for your encouragement. It seems that I'm exposed daily to an increasing crescendo of invitations to sin. May the Lord deliver us, for his glory. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world (money, power, pleasure, reputation) and loses his own soul?

Thanks for the reminder, the challenge, to live by God's promises.
